napa castle wine tasting
Planning a visit soon anyone with tips Wine Country?

I'm going to the north (I live near SF) for the Napa Valley tasting wine with some friends to visit. The problem is that I never was! I've heard of some places you have to see when you're up there that much Italian castle (Castello di Amorosa) is a must, as is the Sattva V. wine gourmet deli featuring large outdoor area and pcinic. Besides these stops obvious, what are some good bets, as far as wineries? Other places of interest, we are hit-making bus nearby (what woman does not like bus?) and dinner, perhaps at Uva Trattoria in downtown Napa. If anyone can suggest a few other stops, I really appreciate it! Thank you.

Take a look at this site for information on wineries and places to eat. You can also print coupons for free wine tasting here: http://www.cheers2wine.com. The tour at Castello di Amorosa is very interesting. Reservations are required. It is owned by the same family as V. Sattva. Sterling Vineyards is another stop unique. You ride an aerial tram up the hill to the tasting room. After a self guided tour (you can skip), you're sitting at a table and served a flight of wine. Hess Collection is fun. They have an interesting Museum of Modern Art. Best view: Domaine Carneros best restaurants with a view: Auberge du Soleil (reservations to dine out and enjoy a fabulous view)

What happened to Newlan Winery?

Years ago I went to a winery in Napa Valley on the south end off of 29 called Newlan Winery. He later moved its name to Köves-Newlan winery. I cannot find it on the internet, and not on any map Napa. It was purchased by another winery or it close its doors? They had a great Pinot Noir, years ago I went to a winery in Napa Valley on the south end of 29 called off Newlan Winery.
